I work with families, workplaces, and classrooms to share frontline information about mental health, substance use and other related topics.

These workshops can be customized to address issues within or for purposes of expanding awareness and preparedness.

  • Sobriety vs Harm Reduction- Treatment Options: What is the difference, what works better, and what public/private programs may look like and cost

  • Organic vs Synthetics, Licit vs Illicit: Defining Substances, Drug Availability, Cost and Effects

  • Drug Addiction vs Dependency: What is the difference, when to worry, what to do?

  • Cultural Perspectives- A History Lesson: Mental Health and Substance Use 

  • Intergenerational Substance Use: Recognizing patterns and who is at risk?

  • The Metaphoric Tree of Risk Assessment: plotting known information to identify children/teens who may be at higher risk of substance abuse and mental health issues

  • Who is Effected and How to Help Yourself: What is compassion fatigue? What is vicarious trauma? What type of support is needed for those effected by another's struggles?

  • The Application of Art and Mindfulness: mental health strategy; relapse prevention; stress reduction; what are the scientific benefits to the body and mind, why is this important? 

  • The Science Of Loneliness: How does isolation impact a person? Is "homelessness" a health issue? What puts people at additional risk? Can people with jobs, friends and family really be lonely?

  • Education Experiences and Barriers that Increase Addiction/Mental Health Issues: What role does a child's education contribute to risk factors? Does early assessment and diagnosing help future outcomes? What effect do classroom experiences such as class sizes, violence, and lack of classroom supports have on students and how long can it impact a person? Does past education experience create barriers for future education goals?
